I LOVE FOOD! Glad to not be on WW right now, hehehe....
It's funny how pregnancies can differ. It seems my cravings or food aversions are quite different from last time around. For instance, I have NO problem with BBQ this time around - at least for now, whereas last time I would have been on the verge of puking when I passed Jack Stack on the way to work. I craved tacos like they were the only food on the planet when I was pregnant with Aaron. I would go get the good old deep fried - beef tacos almost 3 times a week on my lunch breaks. I could really care less about Mexican this time. I still like it, but I could live without it. I'm wondering what is going to be the major craving this time.
I am starting to crave beef again. I think it's just my body's way of telling me I need more Iron....Especially when I forget to take my prenate... On the way home from the lake last weekend I desperatly wanted pot roast. It was the only thing that sounded appealing. And so my wonderful hubby stopped at Ryan's which incrediablly had none other but pot roast on thier buffet!
The best so far though is the craving that woke me up the other morning. I was laying in bed in that half sleep state and dreaming of Auntie Anne's Pretzles. For those of you who have never tried them, they are not like ball park soft pretzels. They have a hint of sweetness to them and are COVERED in butter and simply melt in your mouth. I was actually drooling. It's been probably years since I've had them at the great mall. I used to get them on my break when I worked at Old Navy. So I decided that I could either drive to Olathe and get one or I could attempt to make them at home. I went straight for the computer, still in my pjs, and looked up how to make Auntie Anne's pretzels. I was in luck...I found an excellent recipe and had all of the ingredients except for real butter. (All I had was that low fat junk that I used to eat on WW.) So...I made a trip to Wal-mart for some other items too, but mostly because I didn't think they would be the same in imitation butter. This is my masterpiece...
In case you are wondering - it was FABULOUS! And I made so many that I froze them and can now nuke them in the microwave at will although they were best fresh. They are really good with cheese sauce too...boy I'm bad.... I'm going to need WW for sure when this baby is born!
