Visiting, Baking, and Playing

The day after Christmas is always so much fun because you get to use and play with all your cool new things.  John played around with his new CB radio, Aaron was in little kid bliss with all of his new toys, and I spent most of the day in the kitchen with my new Kitchen Aid noodle adapter and other fun kitchen items.  We had made- from-scratch waffles for breakfast.  Then John's best friend Brian was in town so we had him over for lunch today and it was so great to sit and chat with him.  I made cake for dessert after lunch!  Then for dinner we had homemade spaghetti made from scratch and formed with my noodle maker!  Oh and homemade focaccia bread and Caesar salad.  Baking might just be the end of me!  The noodles were so delicious - I'm not sure I want to go back to store bought!

It's been a great past few days and I'm spent!  John had to work tonight but he's off the rest of this week until New Year's Eve.  I'm looking forward to a very special date night soon. : )  John bought me a Pandora necklace for Christmas!!!  I am so excited!  If you are unfamiliar with Pandora it is a very nice jewelry company that specializes in charm necklaces and bracelets.  They have a distinct style and look and are a little on the pricey side but VERY durable which I like so little ones can't just pull them off your neck and break them.  Sooooo, he's taking me out on a special dinner date and then to the Pandora store in Oak Park Mall to choose a few charms.  I'm thinking one to symbolize our marriage, one for Aaron, and one for baby Ethan.  I can't wait to add to it little by little throughout our life together.  By the time I'm 90 I'll have a lifetime of memories to think back on.  Wouldn't it be cool if he took me on a special date every time I get a new charm? Hmmm... maybe we should start a new tradition... Hahaha!

  1. WOW!!! Can't wait to try some of your noodles!!! I've been eyeballing a pasta attachment for my kitchen aid... but I DID get an icecream maker!! So... you make the pasta, I'll make the icecream!! :)

O, and A looks sooo grown up in those last 2 pics!!! Crazy! He is getting so big :) What a cutie... or should I say, what a handsome little man.

What else, there was something else... O YA, I don't know anything about this Pandora situation, so I can't wait to see your bling! You'll have to tell me all about it.

  2. We'll have to trade sometime and try each other's out! Brian got an ice cream attachment too but he lives in New York! We should totally have a dinner date and have a pasta dish with ice cream for dessert!
