A few weeks ago, sometime mid may, I found a Little Tikes playhouse for sale at a garage sale for $20. Twenty bucks? I was sold! I knew Aaron would have so much fun in it. The lady who I bought it from had spray painted it in past years to make it look new and to change the colors from the ugly original pastel look. The paint, however, was very chipped and made the little house look quite shabby. Maybe that's why it was still for sale at 11:45 AM in the Ashton Estates Neighborhood garage sale. Uh. Yeah. Unheard of. Kid's stuff always goes fast. No matter. I was the lucky buyer! The very same house was listed on Ebay for $250. Here is what the original looked like.
The pastel isn't terrible if it were for girls. John said he would have vetoed it though if it was this color. He's already teasing me about how girly it is. I don't care. Aaron doesn't know any better and he LOVES it!
Thanks to that lovely lady's advice, I went to Wal-mart and picked up some more of that special spray paint and voila!
So let's see... $20 for the house plus $25 for the paint and $5 for a basket of plastic food = 1 heck of a deal if I do say so myself! Now if only this swing set thing for $50 off Craigslist works out... but shhhhhh - It's for his birthday!
