Petting Zoo with Grammy

This week we went on a fantastic outing with Grammy to the petting zoo.  It is so nice to have her close by and be able to do fun things together.  Deanna Rose Farmstead is only minutes from her apartment and costs nothing in the middle of the week.  This is where stay-at-home-mom and semi-retired grammy have great advantages!  We will certainly be making the trip again.  The park is so large that you cannot see it all in one day.  At least not with a 1 year old and a 2 year old.  In addition to the animals, there are playgrounds, exhibits, flower gardens, and a nature trail to see.  The boys were most interested in the playgrounds so after a few animal visits, they were ready to let out some energy.

And then of course they were hungry!  Grammy packed us a great little lunch and we headed to the parking lot to grab the cooler and find a spot to claim our own.  There is another playground just outside of the park and it was perfect.  Lunch was great and we even had fancy cupcakes for dessert.

Then it was off to play in the playground and of course - swing!  That's all Aaron wants to do right now.  And all Ethan wants to do is slide!  He goes up almost as quick as he goes down.  Down the slide, run around and up the stairs.  Repeat. Repeat. Repeat....  It never gets old.

The boys were wiped out!  Ethan didn't make it the few minutes back to Grammy's apartment.  Not that she minded....  he slept in her arms while I changed over the car seats and loaded up the car.  Looking forward to our next trip!
