The last week has been quite tough on us. You know the kind where one thing after another happens and you just want the week to END already!! Yeah, one of those. It was mostly due to the fact that John and I caught a cold. At the same time. And not just any cold. It was the cold from hell! Fevers, sore throats, coughs, runny, stuffy noses... the works. For SEVEN days! The kids got the cough and runny noses and a little bit of the fever but otherwise didn't really get hit as hard as John and I did. Thank goodness! And they really were good all things considered. We basically laid around all day and did as little chores/kid chasing as humanly possible. The dishes piled up, the food ran out, every toy was spread across the living room floor and the backyard. It's a good thing it was nice out because the kids just basically played in the backyard all day for at least 3 solid days! I can't remember a summer cold like this before.
The good news is we are feeling much better now. Still lingering coughs and runny noses but the ache is gone and the energy has returned. I didn't think I'd ever want to clean another dish in my life. But the kitchen is clean, and I'm back to cooking. Yay! Confession: I fed my children chicken nuggets not once but TWICE last week. GROSS!!!! It's been so long since we've eaten out. John and I just had smoothies at home but that was not enough for the kiddos. I can't believe we used to go get fast food several times a week on a regular basis. The kids thought it was a real treat and were thrilled. I even splurged and got them real kids meals. I hope they enjoyed it because mama's cooking again!
I'm so glad the boys are such great buddies. They really are getting good at entertaining themselves. Sometimes that spells trouble but more often than not, they are usually playing in the dirt in the backyard or building trains in the basement. This came in handy as I could crash on the couch downstairs and let them play.

This is Aaron's circle. He was so proud of it!
So glad to be back to the land of living. Throughout my crazy cold I still managed to teach 7 Zumba and Aqua Zumba classes... (If I don't teach, I don't get paid!) Today's class was much more enjoyable! I'm looking forward to tomorrow. Why? Because there is absolutely NOTHING on the schedule for any of us. What will we do with ourselves?
